The first Royal Enfield electric motorcycle is all set to be unveiled on 4 November, and in the run-up to the same, the company has begun rolling out teasers on social media platforms. The video shows a shadow of the bike being cast on the buildings of a metropolis, as it is being airdropped.
The theme is reminiscent of the Royal Enfield Flying Flea motorcycle being airdropped onto the battlefield during the World War. The new Royal Enfield electric motorcycle seems to be inspired by the little motorcycle, as is evident in the latest spy shots.
The bike has a narrow profile, a girder fork and a battery-motor unit that sits where you’d usually find the engine. The bike is seen riding on skinny wheels with road-biased tyres. Other details include an LED headlight and indicators.
The Royal Enfield electric motorcycle should serve as a city runabout and offer at least 100km range if not more. Its light weight is also likely to make it feel like a flickable and easy-to-ride commuter.
This will also be the first electric motorcycle from an Indian mainstream manufacturer. More on this at the time of the unveiling.
