- To debut in FY 2025
- Will likely have a fast charging option
- It will get a fixed battery setup
There is new development on the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle and the brand is hinting at debuting its first production offering in FY 2025. It is no surprise that Royal Enfield wants to dip its toes in the electric two-wheeler market. We have already seen the electric Himalayan concept as well as the visuals of the electriK01.
Moreover, the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle will support fast charging and have a fixed battery setup. The brand is likely to refrain from using the swappable battery technology. As mentioned, we have already seen the two prototypes Royal Enfield is currently working on.
The most recent patent images show an old-school, retro motorcycle design which is tandem with the brand’s current lineup of motorcycles. It is the sketch image of the electriK01 concept and features a round headlight, and an exposed large battery nestled in a cradle frame. It is suspended on girder forks and equipped with large alloy wheels. The patent image shows a single-seat setup with an exposed rear fender and a tail light setup flanked by bullet turn indicators.
As for the electric Himalayan, it was shown at the EICMA 2023. The bike was in its prototype stage and featured bodywork similar to the current Himalayan 450. We have done a detailed story on the same with all the images as well.
