Royal Enfield has expanded its footprint in the Asia Pacific region by announcing its entry in South Korea. The bikemaker has collaborated with Vintage Motors as its official partner and distributor in the country.
The company has set up its first dealership in the capital city of Seoul where it will execute the sales, service and spare parts retailing for the motorcycles. As of now, Royal Enfield has introduced only three models from its portfolio in South Korea. These include the Bullet 500 which is priced at 5,500,000 won (approx. Rs 3.35 lakhs), Classic 500 standard at 5,950,000 won (approx. Rs 3.63 lakhs), Classic 500 chrome at 6,200,000 won (approx. Rs 3.78 lakhs) and the adventure bike Himalayan which costs 4,950,000 won (approx. Rs 3.02 lakhs). Apart from these motorcycles, the Royal Enfield store in Seoul also has riding gear, apparel and accessories on offer.
The company claims that it has witnessed a 20 per cent year-on-year growth in the Asia Pacific region and considers its entry into Korea a major part of its expansion. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield has been facing dwindling sales in India for a few months. For instance, it registered a 21.3 per cent sales decline in March 2019 as compared to the corresponding month last year.
