Royal Enfield has announced that it will start doing business in Thailand with the launch of its entire new range in the next few weeks.
The company made this announcement at the ongoing Thailand Motor Show, where it had setup its own stall. Royal Enfield displayed the Bullet 500, Classic 500 and the Classic Chrome along with the Continental GT. Along with these bikes, the Chennai-based company displayed its riding gear and other motorcycle accessories as well.
Royal Enfield has appointed General Auto Supply Co as its first dealer in Thailand. The showroom will open its doors in the next few months. In addition to the store, General Auto Supply Co will also build service and aftermarket capability for Royal Enfield in the region.
“We have pioneered and grown the mid-size motorcycle category in India. With over 50 per cent year-on-year growth in the last five years, our ambition today is to lead and grow the underserved middle-weight segment globally and this growth will largely come from markets like India, Latin America and South East Asia, given their size and comparable commuting trends. Thailand with its already established leisure motorcycling culture and presence of several riding communities and enthusiasts, blends perfectly with Royal Enfield motorcycles that has exploration and adventure at its core," said Arun Gopal, international business head, Royal Enfield.
