- Online registrations have already commenced
After witnessing notable success in its GT Cup Season One, Royal Enfield has announced the GT Cup Season Two for 2022. Online registrations have commenced and will go on till July 27, 2022.
Similar to the previous season, the selected racers will be astride a race-prepped Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. Given its purpose, the bike gets old-school Monza fairing, custom free-flow exhaust, a custom belly pan and a bubble visor. Now, to make the bike even more track-focused, Royal Enfield has equipped it with lowered clip-on handlebars and rear set footpegs.
To make track motorcycle racing more accessible, Royal Enfield has also announced a new series called Pro-Am. This series will allow 15 amateur and 10 professional racers to compete on the same grid. Participants will be allowed to register only in one category of the aforementioned two. From the total number of registered riders, 25 professional and 75 amateur racers will make it to the Rider Selection Programme at Kari Motor Speedway and be filtered ahead from there. The first selection program is scheduled for August 12, 2022.
To be conducted under FMSCI (Federation of Motorsports Club of India), the Royal Enfield GT Cup Season Two will consist of three rounds and eight races. The first round will be held in September (16-18) followed by the second round in October (28-30) with the Grand Finale slated for December (16-18).
