The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has finally been launched in India. The prices of the motorcycle start from Rs. 2.39 lakh and go up to Rs. 2.54 lakh, depending on the variant you choose. While you wait for the bike to arrive at dealerships, let us take you through the list of other options that can be considered in this price range.
Triumph Speed 400: Rs. 2.24 lakh
The Triumph Speed 400 is one of the closest rivals to the Guerrilla. The Speed might look more compact than the RE, but it weighs 9kg less and makes almost the same power at 39.5bhp. The torque output of 37.5Nm, however, is lower by 2.5Nm. It boasts top-notch quality levels, offers decent agility and ride quality and brings along the pride of owning a brand as premium as Triumph.
Harley-Davidson X440: Rs. 2.39-2.79 lakh
With its starting price exactly the same as the Guerrilla, the Harley-Davidson 440 offers a more old-school motorcycling experience. The engine is a simple, air-cooled thumper which is focused more at delivering good torque across the rev range than horsepower. It boasts a unique retro design which, to some extent, is inspired by the Harley XR1200 but the feature list is contemporary with things like a digital console and Bluetooth connectivity.
Jawa 350: Rs. 1.99-2.24 lakh
Slightly lower down the pricing spectrum sits the Jawa 350. Visually, it pays homage to the Jawas of the bygone era while the features list is a bit rudimentary. What it does get are essential bits like an assist and slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. Powering the bike is a 334cc, liquid-cooled engine that produces 22.26bhp and 28.1Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The latest version is improved in terms of ergonomics and quality levels than its predecessor.
KTM RC 200: Rs. 2.15-2.18 lakh
If you’re also exploring options in the sportbike category, the KTM RC 200 is a potent offering. The new-age KTM design is complemented by premium hardware such as WP Apex suspension and ByBre brakes. Its high-revving, 199.5cc, liquid-cooled motor makes 24.6bhp at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8,000rpm. With a kerb weight of 160kg, the RC 200 boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio. Interestingly, the new model is also more forgiving than its predecessor in terms of seating ergonomics.
