- Teaser video shows Guy Martin riding the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
- Standing up ergonomics decipherable
- Official unveiling to take place on 17 July
Royal Enfield is all set to globally unveil its new 450cc offering, the Guerrilla 450, on 17 July in Barcelona. Ahead of the big day, the company has released the first teaser video of the motorcycle.
The video shows Isle of Man TT legend, Guy Martin putting the Guerrilla through its paces. Besides water splashing and slides, we can see the Guy standing up and riding the motorcycle, giving away some information about the ergonomics on offer. Considering Guy Martin is 5’8’’ tall and looks comfortable standing up and riding, the Guerrilla should be comfortable for mild off-roading for an average Indian rider. Of course, other aspects like suspension travel and tuning and ground clearance will also play key roles in determining the bike’s off-roading abilities.
Other details visible in the teaser video include an LED headlamp, LED turn indicators, an offset round digital console, and a flat and wide handlebar. Components that are clearly different from the Himalayan include the wheel sizes, front forks, and bodywork. However, the engine is likely to be the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 39.47bhp and 40Nm on the Himalayan. Royal Enfield might slightly change the tuning of the engine to suit the Guerrilla’s character.
In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla will be placed below the Himalayan which starts from Rs. 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the likes of the Triumph Speed 400, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, and TVS Apache RTR 310.
