- Both bikes look ready for production
- Spotted testing multiple times
- Meteor to use the existing 649cc motor
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Himalayan 450 have made another appearance on the road. Both the test mules have been recently spotted and appear closer to production.
The Himalayan 450 has been spotted quite a few times over the last couple of weeks. The latest spy shots reveal that it’ll be equipped with LED illumination all over. Even the round instrument cluster looks different than the current Himalayan unit. The upcoming Himalayan 450 will be powered by a 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor and dish out 40bhp and 45Nm.
For the hardware, Royal Enfield will equip the Himalayan 450 with USD front forks and an offset monoshock. The braking setup will comprise a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS attached to 21/17 (front/rear) spoked wheels.
As for the Super Meteor 650, it’ll borrow the Interceptor 650/Continental GT 650’s 648cc parallel-twin motor. In its current setup, the engine makes 46.8bhp and 52Nm. So, you can expect the same power figures from the Super Meteor as well.
The test mule reveals that it’ll get a proper laid-back rider triangle with a low stance. Its suspension setup consists of USD front forks and dual rear springs, while the braking hardware consists of a single front and rear disc brake. Even though the Super Meteor test mule is equipped with spoked wheels, we expect Royal Enfield to offer alloys in its accessories list.
Royal Enfield has launched two motorcycles for 2022 – Scram 411 and Hunter 350. So, it’s left with two more models for the coming months and you can expect either of the bikes to make their debut by the year-end.
