- New Himalayan 450 Raid launch planned in 2027
- Will get a fully-adjustable suspension
- Tubeless spoke wheels will be standard
Royal Enfield has been working on a more hardcore version of the recently launched Himalayan 450. This variant is called the Himalayan 450 Raid and internally it is called Project K1X.
The Himalayan 450 Raid is based on the 450 platform but will get cycle parts that will make it much better off-road. The brand isn’t focusing much on making the Himalayan 450 Raid road-friendly. Rather, all the focus and efforts are going to make it extremely good for off-road conditions.
For this, the bike will get fully adjustable suspension at the front as well as at the back. This equipment will allow for a much better ground clearance. A lot of focus is being put into getting the kerb weight down as well, as the brand will install some rally-ready components on it. The Himalayan 450 Raid is likely to get the rally sump and engine guards as standard, along with the knuckle guards. The exhaust system will be new too, and this is most likely to get more power out of the bike. The famous tubeless spoke wheels will also come as standard. However, aesthetically, there won’t be much change on the motorcycle. The brand will mostly launch this Himalayan 450 Raid in only one colour.
Royal Enfield had earlier planned to launch the Himalayan 450 Raid in late early 2026, but now, it has been delayed by a few months. In fact, there’s a high chance that the bike could make its official debut at EICMA 2026, followed by an India launch in early 2027. In terms of pricing, the Himalayan 450 is likely to be priced at around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) and this is also where the next generation KTM 390 Adventure will be priced around.
