- Features rally-spec parts
- Gets cross-spoke tubeless wheels
- Could be launched around mid-next year
A more off-road-centric rally version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing for the first time in India. Based on the standard Himalayan 450, the rally variant features purpose-built parts that make it more off-road friendly.
The prototype of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally was seen with a rally tail cowl, cross-spoke tubeless wheels, and a different up-swept rally exhaust. The test mule also seems to be equipped with knuckle guards. Besides these, we can't see any more changes on the motorcycle, although Royal Enfield could offer adjustable suspension with the rally version.
The Himalayan 450 Rally will continue to be powered by a 452cc, liquid-cooled motor, linked to a six-speed gearbox. Whether or not Royal Enfield will offer a different state of tune remains to be seen. That said, the standard model makes 40bhp and 40Nm of peak torque.
A purpose-built hardcore Himalayan 450 could make for an excellent option for off-road enthusiasts, but there's no official word on whether Royal Enfield will launch this bike in India. But, if it does, expect it to be launched sometime around mid-next year.
