- New Himalayan 450 spotted testing
- Early 2023 launch likely
- Will go against KTM 390 Adventure
A few days ago, Royal Enfield commenced road testing of the new Himalayan 450. It looks like the bike was spotted again around Chennai.
From the pictures, it is clear that the spotted prototype isn’t production ready but at the same time, it is not an early prototype. The bike is running a majority of the components – from all body panels to the other cycle parts. Even though the bike is decently camouflaged, we could still spot some obvious things like USD forks, split seats, a round instrument cluster, a windscreen and dual-purpose tyres.
We believe Royal Enfield is fine-tuning the Himalayan 450 for Indian conditions. So things like suspension damping, foot-pegs positioning and motor tuning are being worked upon right now. This prototype wasn’t running any luggage options, so it is clear that the brand is running more than one prototype.
We are expecting the new Himalayan 450 to make its debut early next year with lots of good features, performance and a price tag that could make it quite enticing.
