- Powered by a 450cc single-cylinder motor
- India launch imminent this year
- Will rival the KTM 390 ADV, Yezdi Adventure and more
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been making multiple rounds of testing and was spotted again. The new test mule’s side profiles were covered but there’s still a notable degree of detail revealed in these spy shots.
Royal Enfield will equip the upcoming Himalayan 450 ADV with an LED headlight topped by a transparent visor and a secondary fender below. It gets a fairly tall handlebar giving an overall upright riding posture. The split seat setup, rear luggage rack, and overall bodywork are similar to the test bikes seen before.
The ADV will draw power from a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. Its output figures will be around 40bhp and 45Nm. For reference, the KTM 390 Adventure makes 42.9bhp and 37Nm from its 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor.
The Himalayan 450 will also feature LED illumination overall and a fully digital centre set console housing the necessary bits like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level reading, and more. The brand will also offer dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch with the upcoming ADV offering.
It's evident from the multiple spy shots that the Himalayan 450 will be equipped with USD front forks and a monoshock, while the braking hardware will comprise a single front and rear disc. Its hardware setup could consist of 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels shod in dual-purpose, tube-type tyres.
Royal Enfield could make an official announcement around September this year with the bike inching closer to its production stage. The Himalayan 450 is likely to be priced at around Rs. 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s the same price bracket as the KTM 390 Adventure X and the BMW G 310 GS.
