-Guerrilla 450 is the next 450cc bike from Royal Enfield
-Will rival KTM 390 Duke
-Launch in a few months
It looks like Royal Enfield is very close to launching its second 450cc motorcycle based on the Himalayan 450. This new bike will be called the RE Guerrilla 450 and the official logo for this bike has also been registered with the authorities.
In the world of the internet, this motorcycle was previously called the Roadster 450 and also the Hunter 450. But with this new logo, it is clear that the next 450cc motorcycle from Royal Enfield will be called the Guerrilla 450.
From the spy shots that we have seen over the last year, a few things are clear with this motorcycle. The Guerrilla will get 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends and is likely to be wrapped inwith road-focused CEAT tyres. Unlike the Himalayan 450, which will get USD front forks, the spy shots show the Hunter 450 test mule sporting conventional telescopic forks. The overall riding stance looks comfortable, with a wide handlebar, and slightly rear-set footpegs.
In terms of performance, this Royal Enfield will be powered by the same 450cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 40bhp and 40Nm of peak torque. This motor will be mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
With this street bike, Royal Enfield is planning to pull some customers away from bikes like the KTM 390 Duke and also the Triumph Speed 400. The Guerrilla is likely to carry a price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
