Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6: Review Image Gallery

Royal Enfield’s adventure-touring motorcycle, the Himalayan, is now BS6-compliant with a revised engine for lower emissions. It has also been subtly updated in other aspects, all of which have attracted a hike of Rs 6,000 over the BS4 model. We had the new BS6 Himalayan at our disposal for a while and had a lot of fun astride it. To elaborate on the same, here’s a detailed review image gallery of the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Front Right Three-Quarter

Royal Enfield has retained the rugged, bare-bone styling of the Himalayan which comprises of metal body panels for the most part.

It also continues to be old-school in terms of features with only new add-on being the availability of option to switch off the ABS.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Fuel Tank

What also remains unchanged is the 15-litre fuel tank. Considering the mileage of around 31kmpl, it delivers a range of 465kms on a full tank.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Seat

The well-padded and capacious seat of the Himalayan is one of its USPs which aids in munching long miles without any discomfort.

Power of the Himalayan’s 411cc, fuel-injected motor has gone slightly down with BS6 changes which can be felt in the lower rpms. However, the strong mid-range has remained intact.

It gets the same long travel suspension setup, 200mm up front and 180mm at the rear, which helps it in absorbing almost every undulation that comes in its way.

The high 220mm of ground clearance also prevents the underbelly from scraping during trail riding or while going over tall bumps.

Riding on 21-inch and 17-inch wheels at the front and rear, respectively, it comes shod with grippy dual-purpose tyres which inspire confidence in the rider on most of the terrains.

The prices of the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 start at Rs 1,86,811 for the standard trim and go up to Rs 1,91,401 for the dual tone colour variant (both prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai).
