The Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric 2.0 has been showcased at the EICMA 2024. This is the second iteration of the Himalayan Electric that was showcased at last year’s EICMA. Between the first and second bikes, there are a number of changes.
The design of the bike has seen a notable change. It looks a lot more in tune with the design language of the current Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. There’s a tall windscreen below which lies a round LED headlight. The “fuel tank” area has a steel frame that resembles the unit on the Himalayan 450.
The Himalayan Electric 2.0’s mid and tail section is shaped like a rally bike and one can see a large box under the seat. Even the battery and motor area are quite neatly packaged, especially for a prototype.
The bike features a new battery and motor. There’s a new display with a fresh UI/UX for a more interactive experience.
Since this is a prototype, the sky seems to be the limit as far as equipment on the bike is concerned. The bike has an Ohlins, an electronically adjustable monoshock and a USD fork.
Royal Enfield says that the Himalayan Electric is still quite some time away and there will be at least two more iterations before a production bike surfaces, based on what the market demands.
