The Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric made its world debut at the EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy earlier in November. Although the motorcycle is still a working concept, let’s take a closer look at the Himalayan Electric via this detailed image gallery.
While Royal Enfield is yet to reveal the exact specs and details of the Himalayan Electric, the motorcycle is a working prototype and can be seen being tested in all its glory in the Himalayas.
Royal Enfield claims that the electric Himalayan is a testbed that will spawn future electric bikes from the Indian bike maker.
That said, the concept does give us a hint of what we can expect in terms of the design of the Himalayan Electric, provided Royal Enfield plans to launch the bike in the future.
Coming to its styling, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric concept draws a lot of styling cues from the new Himalayan 450. The highlights include a full LED headlamp and a composite tank that extends into the single-piece seat.
It gets a tall windshield up front and a neatly packed battery pack that comes paired with the compact electric motor.
The concept also comes fitted with what looks like fully adjustable upside-down forks up front and an adjustable monoshock from Ohlins at the back.
The motorcycle features top-notch underpinnings like a steel trellis frame, an aluminium casing for the battery pack, and a cast aluminium swingarm.
Interestingly, besides the real-world testing, Royal Enfield has also done wind tunnel testing for the Himalayan Electric, as the project has been under development for a few years now.
We expect Royal Enfield to launch its first electric motorcycle in India sometime in 2026. Whether or not it will be the Himalayan Electric or any other motorcycle is not known yet.
