Royal Enfield has finally introduced the Himalayan in United Kingdom. It has been priced at £4,199 (Rs 3.80 lakhs) and is now available at all dealerships.
The Chennai-based company is selling the Himalayan in UK in two colours, snow and granite. The Sleet version which was launched recently in India isn’t making its way to the UK. The Himalayan with a single-cylinder 410cc motor is known for its no non-sense rugged design and accessible seat height. While this engine makes just 24bhp, its 15-litres fuel tank makes sure that the bike can be ridden up to 500kms in a single fill up.
The Himalayan is currently the most affordable adventure bike in India. But unfortunately, the bike didn’t do well in the country, due to the reasons ranging from poor quality to need of more power. The company hasn’t given up on this bike yet, and plans to have more marketing activities to push its sales. It will be interesting to see how the Himalayan performs in UK, considering the fact that the country has some amazing terrains and also has a plenty of expensive adventure bikes.
