It’s just been a little over a week since the Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in the Indian market. At a price tag of Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra), the Himalayan is surely a tempting proposition.
And this is clearly seen at Royal Enfield’s showrooms. We spoke to a couple of dealers who claim to have a very good response for this adventure bike. According to them, the Himalayan has resulted into a lot of walk-ins and test rides. In fact, as per them, they haven’t given so many test rides in such a short span. The bookings have been encouraging, however, the waiting periods have resulted in a lot of dissatisfaction among prospective buyers.
Majority of these prospective buyers haven’t owned a Royal Enfield before and the Himalayan will be the first one. This clearly shows that Royal Enfield’s strategy of getting in more buyers into the brand through the Himalayan is working. It’ll be interesting to see how the Himalayan performs for the brand in the long run.
