- Priced at Rs 1.71 lakhs (ex-showroom)
- Pricier than standard bike by Rs 3,672
- Misses out on panniers and handlebar from the limited edition Sleet
The Himalayan Sleet was initially sold exclusively through Royal Enfield’s official website in a limited run of just 500 units, although it is now available through dealerships too.
When it was sold online, the Himalayan Sleet commanded a higher price tag of Rs 1.78 lakhs. However apart from the camouflage paint scheme, it also featured an ‘Explorer’ kit. The kit consisted of two 26-litre aluminium panniers, a crossbrace handlebar and a leg guard guard. Now, the Himalayan Sleet sold through dealerships might be around Rs 7,000 more affordable than the limited edition bike, but it misses out on the Explorer kit. The only thing setting it apart from a standard Himalayan is the camouflage paint scheme, for which Royal Enfield is charging Rs 3,672 extra. Nevertheless, customers do have the option of buying the Explorer kit for an additional Rs 31,900 (including fitting charges).
There are no mechanical changes, and the Himalayan Sleet retains the 411cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine delivering 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. While there are no adventure-touring motorcycles in this price bracket, touring enthusiasts do have the option of the Bajaj Dominar 400.
