Royal Enfield has confirmed the Indian launch details of the Hunter 350. The motorcycle will be launched in our market on 7 August, 2022. The new Hunter 350, once launched, will rival the likes of Yamaha FZ25, Suzuki Gixxer, and Pulsar 250 in India. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-spec Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
Styling
The showroom-ready version of the Royal Enfiled Hunter 350 was spotted earlier this month and the spy images revealed several details about the motorcycle. The styling elements will include a round shape for the rear-view mirrors, a tear-drop shaped fuel tank, an asymmetrically-mounted instrument cluster, a single-piece seat, and a compact exhaust canister. The latest spy image confirmed that the Hunter 350 will be available in at least two variants. One version was seen equipped with alloy wheels while the other used wire-spoke units. The spy image also showed two colour options — single-tone silver shade and a white and blue dual-tone colour.
Engine
Leaked type approval documents have revealed the power figures of the new Hunter 350. This new model from the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker will use a Meteor 350-sourced 349.34cc single-cylinder engine that will produce 19.9bhp at 6,100rpm. The maximum torque is likely to remain similar to the Meteor 350 and the single-cylinder motor on the Hunter should deliver 27Nm at 4,000rpm. The engine will be linked to a five-speed gearbox.
Hardware
The hardware will include telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable rear springs to handle the suspension duties. The braking setup will include single discs on both wheels. The motorcycle, as aforementioned, will be available in two wheel options – wire-spoke and alloys. The wire-spoke variant will use tube-type tyres while the alloy wheel version will be equipped with tubeless units.
Features
The safety net should comprise a dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield may also offer a single-channel ABS variant at a lower price tag than the dual-channel ABS version. Further, the motorcycle will use a halogen headlight and an LED taillight. The higher variants of the Hunter 350 should benefit from Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation system. Royal Enfield will also offer optional accessories for the Hunter 350. In fact, we have already seen a test mule of the Hunter 350 with a fly-screen and a pillion backrest.
Price and availability
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be the most affordable model in the company’s portfolio and the entry-level variant is expected to sit below the Bullet 350. Thus, we expect the prices to start from around Rs 1.30 lakh onwards. Once launched, it will rival the likes of Yamaha FZ25, Suzuki Gixxer, and Pulsar 250 as well. The motorcycle has already started to arrive at dealer warehouses and thus we expect the bookings and deliveries to commence soon after the launch.
