- Jawa 42 updated for 2023
- Gets slight changes to engine internals
- Priced from Rs 1.96 lakh
Classic Legends has updated its entire motorcycle line-up in India including the Jawa brand to comply with OBD-2 norms. This also includes the Jawa 42 which is being offered in a choice of three colour options.
You can have the Royal Enfield Hunter 350-rival in Orion Red or Sirius White that cost Rs 1.96 lakh, ex-showroom. If you prefer something more stealthy, there is the Allstar Black. However, that will cost you a slight premium as it is priced at Rs 1.97 lakh, ex-showroom.
Now, while the motorcycle’s design hasn’t been changed and remains a blacked-out, retro-styled offering, Jawa has tweaked the engine a bit. The 42 now comes with a larger throttle body and exhaust ports as well as remapped fuelling and reduced NVH levels. While Jawa hasn’t revealed performance numbers, we expect the figures to differ slightly thanks to the changes. For reference, the previous iteration produced 26.95bhp and 26.8Nm.
In addition to that it also gets a slipper and assist clutch as standard and a tweaked instrument cluster. The hazard lights have been added and a redesigned muffler has been fitted for a different aural experience. But apart from these changes, the Jawa 42 remains the same when it comes to braking and suspension hardware. It also continues with the same fuel-tank capacity of 13.2-litres and a kerb weight of 182kg.
