Royal Enfield has finally taken the wraps off the scrambler version of the Interceptor 650. Christened the Interceptor Bear 650, it’s different from its roadster sibling not just in terms of design but on many other fronts. In that case, let’s take a look at the key details of the Bear along with its pictures.
The Bear looks taller than the Interceptor courtesy of the longer-travel suspension and a bigger front wheel. Even the chassis is different along with the side panels, handlebar, tyres, and seat.
It rides on a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination that is shod with MRF’s Nylorex tyres. These rubbers are specially made for the Bear 650.
While the chassis is borrowed from the Interceptor, it has been strengthened around the neck area to be compatible with the chunkier forks while the rear portion has also been tweaked.
The engine is the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled unit but it has been altered to deliver 5Nm more torque at 57Nm. The twin exhaust pipes have also made way for a single stubby unit.
The suspension setup comprises USD forks and dual springs with both being sourced from Showa and boasting longer travel. The front disc brake is also bigger than the INT.
Instrumentation setup comprises a TFT screen which is Bluetooth enabled. Other features include full-LED lighting, switchable dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch, and a USB-C charging port.
The Interceptor Bear 650 will be sold in a total of five colours with varying prices. Royal Enfield will launch this bike on 5 November and our review will also go live on the same day.
