Royal Enfield has launched a new range of accessories, apparel and riding gear called the Despatch Rider collection. Inspired by the Despatch Riders of the World Wars, this collection was launched during the inauguration of Royal Enfield’s new flagship store in Khan Market, Delhi.
This new collection pays homage to the Despatch riders, who relayed vital information between the headquarters and ground forces through the World Wars, astride Royal Enfield motorcycles. The new collection combines old-school design with classic materials, to give them a vintage look.
The Despatch Rider gear collection includes leather jackets which adorn the company’s signature design motif, cold-weather garments like sweaters, sweatshirts and henleys, and other garments including shirts, t-shirts, denim trousers. Other accessories include belts, wallets and shoes which are crafted in pure leather. Besides this collection, the Chennai-based manufacturer also unveiled a limited edition Despatch Classic 500, which will be available in two unique paint schemes.
Commenting on the new collection, Mr Siddhartha Lal, MD and CEO, Eicher Motors Ltd. said, “We believe that with our expanded offering of purpose built, meticulously detailed and well-crafted motorcycle gear, our riders will enjoy their motorcycling experience even more. We have also got a wider range of urban protection and moto-inspired clothing which enhances the motorcycling experience in cities or for weekend rides, and looks great when one’s not riding as well.”
