Royal Enfield has marked its entry into the Kuwaiti market with the launch of the Thunderbird 500 and Classic 500 motorcycles. The iconic Indian manufacturer has entered into an agreement with Kuwait Automotive Imports Co WLL (KAICO) for the supply, marketing, reselling, distribution and servicing of Royal Enfield products in the country.
Royal Enfield has been synonymous with classic motorcycles for more than a century now, and is hoping that its unique appeal of motorcycling will attract the enthusiasts in the middle-eastern country. For now, the company has introduced only the Thunderbird (called Rumbler in foreign markets) and the Classic 500 in Kuwait.
Speaking at the launch event of the brand, Mr. Arun Gopal, the head of international business, Royal Enfield said, “With a view to become leaders in the global mid-sized motorcycling segment, Royal Enfield is entering Kuwait as we see immense opportunities. We are extremely excited to work with KAICO and they have proven expertise and experience that synergize well with Royal Enfield’s brand experience. With the introduction of the Classic 500 and the Rumbler 500 motorcycles, Royal Enfield will re-ignite the mid-sized (250cc-750cc) leisure motorcycling space in the region.”
The Classic 500 will be available in five paint schemes, while the Rumbler 500 will be available in three paint schemes. Both the motorcycles will be exported to Kuwait as CBUs and will be manufactured from Royal Enfield’s facility in Oragadam, Chennai.
