Royal Enfield motorcycles are known for its classic and vintage looks and this is the main reason why it is in demand in India. Other than working out a way to cut down the waiting period for its bikes, rumours suggest that Royal Enfield is working on two new engines.
The details are little sketchy but the rumours say that the two new engines are of 400cc and 600cc displacement. Both the engines are being developed based on the current engine platform. These engines is expected to power to new motorcycles, that are being planned for late 2015 launch. Known for its very good torque, the new engines are also rumoured to impress in power figures. The 400cc engine might churn out torque close to 40Nm, whereas the 600cc engine would pump of 60Nm.
It is still not clear if these two engines will be seen in Classic or the Thunderbird series, but we are expecting the company will share components. Last month, Royal Enfield hired ex-Ducati engineer Pierre Terblanche and we believe that he could be working on these upcoming motorcycles. The 600cc motorcycle will compete with the Harley-Davidson Street 750, however the real competition will depend on the quality of components used on the motorcycle.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more detail of the new bikes from Royal Enfield.
