Royal Enfield has launched the new Meteor 350 in the Indian market with prices starting from Rs 1,75,817. The new product from the Chennai-based brand replaces the Thunderbird in the company’s portfolio and rivals the likes of Honda H’Ness CB 350, the Jawa Classic and the Benelli Imperiale 400. The Thunderbird 350X inspired styling cues bring a quintessential cruiser stance to the Meteor 350.
The new motorcycle features a round headlight with LED DRL, an LED taillight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, pulled back handlebar, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, and split-style seats.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is available in three variants – Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova.
The Fireball version gets vibrant red and yellow paint options. The colours are visible on the fuel tank and the wheel rim tapes, while several cycle parts and the engine feature a blacked-out finish.
The Stellar version gets contemporary red, blue or matt black tanks and matching body components along with a chrome treatment to the handlebar and exhaust. The Stellar variant also gets a pillion backrest.
The most expensive variant in the list, the Supernova gets dual-tone blue or brown paint options with matching body parts, machined wheels, a choice of premium seats and a windscreen.
All variants of the Meteor get a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster with a turn-by-turn navigation system. The Royal Enfield Tripper has been built with the Google Maps platform and the setup works with a smartphone application. The instrument cluster features a semi-digital layout that comprises of an analogue speedometer and an LCD screen.
The new Meteor 350 is powered by a BS6-compliant 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, long-stroke engine with fuel injection system and a balancer shaft. Linked to a newly developed five-speed gearbox, the motor makes 20.2bhp and 27Nm.
The shock absorption tasks are handled by 41mm telescopic front forks and six-step adjustable twin-sided springs at the back. The anchoring setup comprises of a 300mm disc at the front and a 270mm rotor at the back while the safety net includes a dual-channel ABS.
The alloy wheels are wrapped in CEAT-sourced 100/90-19 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres.
The Fireball variant of the motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,81,326 while the Stellar version is available for Rs 1,81,326. The top-spec Supernova edition is available for Rs 1,90,536 (all prices are ex-showroom, Chennai).
