- Meteor 350 Aurora variant launched
- Comes in new colours
- Gets spoke wheels and tube tyres
Royal Enfield has widened the Meteor 350 range by launching the new Aurora variant of the cruiser. It gets a couple of changes over other variants of the bike and comes with a price tag of Rs. 2,19,900 (ex-showroom, Chennai) which places it between the Stellar and Supernova trims of the Meteor 350.
The new Aurora variant of the Meteor 350 comes equipped with spoke wheels and tube tyres, unlike other versions which get alloy wheels and tubeless rubbers. Moreover, the engine case, exhaust system, and a few other components have been bestowed with chrome finishing. All of this is done to enhance the retro appeal of the bike. Other features of the Aurora trim include a deluxe touring seat, Tripper navigation, a new Super Meteor 650-like LED headlamp, and aluminium switch cubes. Furthermore, RE has brought in three new colours for the Aurora version – blue, green, and black.
Notably, Royal Enfield has mildly updated the Supernova and Stellar variants as well. While the former has received the new LED headlamp and aluminium switch cubes, the latter incorporates the Tripper navigation device as a standard fitment. In fact, all of these new elements can be donned on any variant of the Meteor 350 as an accessory.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 remains unchanged in all other areas. It continues to be powered by a 349cc, air/oil-cooled engine that produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. It rides on a 19-17-inch wheel combination that is suspended by telescopic forks up front and dual springs at the rear. The stopping power comes from a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. With a fuel tank of 15 litres, the Meteor 350 weighs 191kg (kerb).
