- Royal Enfield Meteor 350 launching tomorrow
- Will be the successor to the Thunderbird 350X
- Prices are expected to start from Rs 1.65 lakh
Royal Enfield is all set to launch its much-anticipated Meteor 350 in India tomorrow, 6 November 2020. The motorcycle is essentially the successor to the Thunderbird 350X and is based on Royal Enfield’s all-new J platform. Once launched, it will compete against the likes of the new Honda H’ness CB 350, Jawa Standard and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
The design of the Meteor 350 is similar to the Thunderbird with a quintessential cruiser stance. Other elements which are typical of an RE include a circular headlamp, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, pulled back handlebar and a swooping rear fender. However, unlike existing Royal Enfield offerings, it gets modern features such as LED DRL, an LED tail lamp and a USB charger. The most interesting bit is the semi-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Underpinning the Meteor 350 is a new double cradle frame which holds a 350cc, single-cylinder engine which is also new. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm. The Meteor rides on alloy wheels which are shod with tubeless tyres. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers while braking is handled by a disc at both ends.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be available in three variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova, which will vary in terms of paint scheme and a few other components. Prices of the motorcycle are likely to start from Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
