- Royal Enfield Meteor 350 sales cross 10,000 units
- First time since its launch in November 2020
- Sold almost double its close rival, the Honda Hness CB350
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has crossed the 10,000 unit sales mark for the first time since its launch. The motorcycle was launched in November 2020 in India and it had garnered over 7,000 customers in the first month itself. Since then, its sales numbers have been hovering between 5,000-10,000 units.
These figures indicate that Royal Enfield has had a good start with the Meteor 350 until now. It’s inching closer to its highly popular stablemate, the Classic 350 that recorded 31,694 sales in March 2021. The Meteor 350 also outsold its close rival, the Honda Hness CB350, by a huge margin in the last month. Notably, the CB350 was launched in October last year, just a few days before the Meteor.
The Meteor 350 is based on Royal Enfield’s new J platform that will form the base for all the upcoming 350cc models from RE. It is based on a dual cradle frame that holds a 349cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm. Although these numbers are similar to the older 350cc engine, it feels punchier and substantially smoother.
As compared to the Classic 350 and Bullet 350, the Meteor is also much modern in terms of features. It gets an LED DRL, an LED tail lamp and a USB charger. Above all, it comes equipped with a Tripper navigation module accompanying the main instrument cluster. The Meteor 350 is available in three variants - Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova with prices starting from Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
