Keeway India recently launched its fourth offering in the country, the V302C. The Hungarian brand’s cruiser offering has rivals like the Meteor 350 in the segment. Let’s compare the two bikes on paper and see the results.
Design
Starting with the Meteor 350, it gets a proper laid-back, cruiser-style design. The overall bodywork is retro in every aspect, similar to the other Royal Enfield offerings. The Meteor 350 gets a round bulb headlight with bulb illumination all over. Meanwhile, the Keeway V302C follows a more bobber styling with its single-seat format. It even gets an LED headlight with bulb turn indicators. Compared to the Meteor, the V302C looks a bit more muscular. While Royal Enfield offers standard mirrors for its bike, the V302C gets bar end mirrors from the factory.
Royal Enfield also offers a host of accessories to bump the utility as well as the aesthetics, but the Keeway V302C is offered sans any accessories as of now.
Features
On the feature front, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comes with conventional lighting all over and a single pod instrument console. The latter packs a speedometer, an odometer, a trip meter, a fuel level readout, and other basic details. You can also equip it with a Tripper Navigation system for an added cost. Meanwhile, the Keeway V302C features LED illumination and a single pod instrument cluster. But it misses out on Bluetooth connectivity.
Engine
Powering the Meteor 350 is a 349cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor that develops 20.2bhp and 27Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the V302C packs a 298cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin with the output rated at 29.5bhp and 26.5Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a belt drive system.
Hardware
The suspension setup for the Meteor 350 comprises 41mm telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks. It gets a 300mm front and a 270mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS. The Meteor rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel. Keeway has suspended the V302C on USD front forks and dual rear springs while the braking hardware comprises a 300mm front and a 240mm rear disc. It rides on a 16-inch front and a 15-inch rear wheel.
Price
Currently, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 retails at Rs 2,05,844 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Keeway V302C is priced at Rs 3,89,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards.
