Royal Enfield Meteor 350: What we know so far?

Royal Enfield will soon update its product portfolio with the launch of the Meteor 350. While the launch details are yet to be confirmed, we have learnt from our sources that the motorcycle will reach the Indian market in October 2020. Here we tell you everything that we know about the upcoming motorcycle from Royal Enfield.

Design

Styling cues of the Meteor 350 will be inspired by the Thunderbird 350X. Thus, the upcoming motorcycle will feature bright colour options, teardrop fuel tank, round headlight with chrome highlight, split-seats, and alloy wheels. The Meteor 350 will be offered in three variants – Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova.

Leaked documents have confirmed that the motorcycle will be available in seven colour options. The Fireball, which will be the base variant, will be offered in Fireball Yellow and Fireball Red. The Meteor 350 Stellar variant will be offered in three colours – Red Metallic, Black Matte, and Blue Metallic. The top-spec Supernova variant will be available in two paint options – Brown and Blue dual-tone paint schemes.

Features

The motorcycle will receive new switchgear, an LED DRL, an LED taillight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity with a navigation system, and a USB charger. Royal Enfield will also offer several optional accessories along with the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Engine

Engine

The Meteor 350 will be powered by a 350cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, long-stroke engine that will be tuned to deliver 20.2bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of peak torque. Leaked documents suggest that the new gearbox will deliver smooth and light clutch action.

Hardware

The hardware on the motorcycle, similar to the Thunderbird 350, will include telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear shock absorbers to perform the suspension duties. The anchoring setup will include single discs on both wheels while the safety net will comprise dual-channel ABS.

Expected Price

We expect the Meteor 350 to cost around Rs 1.70 lakh, which is a premium of Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000 over the Thunderbird 350X.
