- Royal Enfield patents ‘Hunter’ name
- Could get scrambler styling
- Likely to be based on Himalayan platform
Royal Enfield is likely to launch an all-new motorcycle called the ‘Hunter’ in India soon. The news comes after patent documents trademarking the name were leaked recently.
Going by the raw and rugged-sounding name, the motorcycle is likely to be a scrambler; something which would have much more off-road capability than the Bullet Trials range. While details are yet to be known, the ‘Hunter’ could be based on the Himalayan platform while using the retuned version of the 411cc engine and majority of cycle parts from the latter. Or, it could use a smaller engine, something in the 250-300cc range while featuring lighter equipment and a lower seat height to make it more accessible.
Royal Enfield is likely to launch the motorcycle early in 2021 as currently it would be focusing more on the 2020 versions of the Classic and Thunderbird. While it is still early to say, we can expect the Royal Enfield Hunter to be priced around the range of Rs 1.3-1.4 lakhs in the country.
