Royal Enfield continues 2016 with a strong sales performance and posted sales of 53,378 motorcycles. The combined domestic and exports in July 2016 recorded a growth of 31 per cent over the same period last year.
Domestic sales are up 31 per cent from 39,867 in July 2015 to 52,128 in July 2016. The most prominent model being the Classic 350, it accounts for a majority of this share averaging sales figures of 25,000 each month. In terms of exports, the manufacturer saw a growth of 40 per cent from 893 in July 2015 to 1250 in July 2016.
Royal Enfield has maintained its volume growth in the first quarter of FY 2016-17 and continues to take more orders than its monthly supply. Royal Enfield say that the response to Himalayan (Royal Enfield’s first adventure-tourer) has been extremely encouraging and it is now available for booking across the country.
Royal Enfield also continues to expand its reach in India with 566 dealerships now open across the country.
