- Exports dropped by 52 per cent
- To launch the Meteor 350 soon
Royal Enfield has announced a 23 per cent decline in sales in India.
The manufacturer sold 37,925 motorcycles in the country in July as compared to the 49,182 units sold in the same month last year. Exports also took a hit for Royal Enfield as it managed to sell 2,409 units overseas in July 2020. This is a 52 per cent decrease against the 5,003 motorcycles exported in July 2019. In total, Royal Enfield has registered a 26 per cent drop in sales.
Nevertheless, we can expect the sales number to see a boost as the Indian festive season approaches. Furthermore, Royal Enfield is also likely to launch the Meteor 350 in the country soon. The motorcycle which is based on the Thunderbird 350 will feature the new ‘J-architecture’ engine. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
