Royal Enfield is off to a good start in 2015, as the company registered a 43 per cent overall growth in the first month of the year as compared to January 2014. Royal Enfield sold 28,927 motorcycles in January 2015 as opposed to the 20,232 units it had managed in the corresponding period, last year.
The Chennai-based manufacturer’s domestic numbers grew by 42 per cent, while its exports surged by 82 per cent. With the demand for its motorcycles growing rapidly, the company recently acquired a 50 acre plot in Vallam Vadagal, near Chennai with the aim of ramping up its production capacity. This place is around 10 kilometres away from its current facility in Oragadam and will supplement the company’s growth.
Royal Enfield has now started offering an extended warranty on its products. While earlier the Royal Enfield motorcycles were offered only with a 10,000kms/1 year warranty, the company has now started offering a 20,000kms/2 years warranty on all its products. This move should help in increasing the customers’ trust in the brand and should take care of the small niggles that keep cropping up in Royal Enfield motorcycles.
