- To be powered by the 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine
- It will feature neo-retro styling
- Will rival the Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Duke and more
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been spotted testing once again. It could be launched in the coming months and here is what we know about the bike so far.
Now, it is no secret that the Guerrilla 450 will be based on the latest Himalayan 450. However, its design, as the name suggests, will be oriented towards road riding with minimal bodywork overall. The test mule shows a round headlight, a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, and a single-piece seat. The styling looks similar to the current Hunter.
Royal Enfield will use its latest Sherpa 450 engine with the new Roadster. It is a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 40bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,000rpm. The mill comes linked to a six-speed gearbox. From our experience with the new Himalayan, the Sherpa 450 is a much more modern motor and fun to ride with oodles of power around the mid-range.
We also expect features like full LED illumination, ride-by-wire, ABS, a fully digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, navigation, SMS and call notifications, and more. The hardware is likely to comprise telescopic front forks and an offset monoshock along with a front and rear disc brake mounted on alloy wheels.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Roadster 450 will rival the Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Duke, and a few more naked motorcycles in the segment.
