Royal Enfield’s upcoming naked roadster based on the Himalayan 450 has been undergoing testing for quite some time now. The Guerrilla 450 will be the road-going version of the adventure tourer and will be launched shortly in India. In this article, we will tell you everything you should know about the RE Guerrilla 450.
Styling
Unlike some of the naked streetfighter offerings in the segment, the Roadster 450 will feature an old-school styling. It will get a round LED headlamp, tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat, and a stubby tail. The bike will be underpinned by the same chassis as the Himalayan 450 but is expected to feature a different subframe.
Engine Specifications
Powering the Roadster 450 will be the same Sherpa 450 engine that powers the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The 452cc, liquid-cooled, motor pumps out 39.47bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 40Nm at 5,500rpm on the adventure tourer. The single-cylinder motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from an assist and slipper clutch.
Features
Feature-wise, the Royal Enfield Roadster 450 will come packed with LED lighting all around, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps integration, multiple riding modes, ride-by-wire throttle, and switchable dual-channel ABS.
Cycle Parts
Judging by the spy pictures, the motorcycle will come shod with telescopic front forks with gaiters and a monoshock at the back. The bike will expected to ride on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends that will be wrapped in street-biased tyres. Meanwhile, its braking hardware will be carried over from the Himalayan 450, which should include disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Launch Timeline and Competition
The Royal Enfield Roadster 450 is expected to be launched in India around mid-2024. It will compete against the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Triumph Speed 400, and the TVS Apache RTR 310.
