-Registers 7 per cent drop in domestic sales with 70,872 units sold.

Royal Enfield has reported a 7 per cent drop in total sales, which include domestic as well as export markets for January 2019. The company sold 72,701 units as compared to the 77,878 units it sold in January 2018.
In the Indian market, it sold 70,872 motorcycles last month; a 7 per cent decrease in sales as compared to Jan’18 wherein Royal Enfield sold 76,205 units. However, exports for the company grew by 9 per cent in January with 1,829 units dispatched offshore as against the 1,673 motorcycles in the same month last year.
The manufacturer’s sales have been sliding since November; however we expect to see the numbers increase by March-April this year. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield will be increasing prices of its 350cc motorcycles which include the Classic 350, Thunderbird 350 and Thunderbird 350X by 1-2 per cent from this month.
