Eicher Motors owned Royal Enfield registered a 21 per cent growth in overall sales in the month of July with 64,459 units sold as compared to 53,378 units sold in the same month in 2016. Domestic sales for the company also saw a 21 per cent growth with 63,157 motorcycles sold in July as compared to 52,128 motorcycles the manufacturer sold in the same period last year.
Exports for Royal Enfield also saw a marginal 4 per cent growth as the company exported 1302 units last month as against the 1250 units exported in July 2016. The manufacturer also recorded a growth of 24 per cent for the first quarter of FY2017. It sold 2,48,457 units between April to July as compared to 200861 units sold in the same period last fiscal.
The Chennai-based manufacturer sold 2,42,039 motorcycles in India in the first quarter of FY2017 as compared to the 195457 motorcycles that were sold in the same time last year. This resulted in a 24 per cent growth in domestic sales for the company. Royal Enfield saw an increase in exports for the three months of this fiscal with a growth of 19 per cent. The manufacturer exported 6418 units as compared to the 5404 units it sold in the same time last year.
