Chennai based manufacturer, Royal Enfield sales have reportedly grown by an overall 25.5 per cent in the month of May 2017.
The company, owned by Eicher Motors informed that it has sold a total of 60,696 units excluding exports as opposed to the 48,604 units it sold in May 2016.
Royal Enfield’s 350cc offerings dominated the sales numbers by selling 55,823 units and registered a growth of 29 per cent whereas the models exceeding 350cc managed to sell 4873 units resulting in a 10 per cent decline of sales.
Export sales saw a 49.3 per cent growth with 2049 units sold over the 1372 units sold in May 2016. The company has also started direct operations in Brazil which is the fourth largest two wheeler market in the world. This is the second direct distribution subsidiary abroad with Royal Enfield North America (NERA) being the first.
