Royal Enfield has registered a total growth of 27 per cent last month.
It sold 76,187 units in April 2018 as compared to the 60,142 units it sold in April 2017. The manufacturer sold 74,627 units in India in April 2018. A growth of 27 per cent considering it sold 58,564 units in the same month last year.
The Classic 350, Thunderbird 350 and the Bullet 350 have always been the cash cows for the manufacturer and collectively registered a growth of 24 per cent last month. 70,111 units of the motorcycles were sold as compared to the 56,349 units it sold in April 2017. Meanwhile, the Classic 500, Thunderbird 500 and the Himalayan sold 6076 units; a growth of 60 per cent over last year’s numbers.
However, exports saw a decline by 1 per cent. Royal Enfield sold 1,560 units last month as compared to 1,578 units last year. The manufacturer recently launched the Thunderbird 350X and Thunderbird 500X in India. For 2018, Royal Enfield’s plans include the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 which are expected to arrive in the second half of the year.
