Royal Enfield has announced that its February sales have increased by 49 per cent. The company sold 30,240 units in February this year as compared to 20,343 units in the same month last year.
Out of the total business, 29,491 units were sold in the domestic market, registering 49 per cent growth here as well. In the same month last year, Royal Enfield sold 19,840 units. For the export market, the company contributed 749 units as compared to 503 units in the corresponding month last year.
Even though Royal Enfield has been growing in very good numbers, the company is in the process of going aggressive with their future plans. It recently announced its plans of setting up a new technology development centre in the UK. The Chennai-based company is also developing three new motorcycles which are based on two new platforms. These motorcycles are expected to make their way to the Indian market in 2016, but one of the interesting aspects of this news is that, the company has registered a trademark for Himalayan, making us believe that there could be an adventure motorcycle under development.
