Royal Enfield registered a 66 per cent growth in its sales numbers for August 2014, as compared to the corresponding period in the last year. The cumulative sales numbers for the past eight months also saw a substantial growth of 81 per cent, as the company sold 1,92,356 two-wheelers in the Indian and overseas markets.
A healthy demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles in the other global markets saw the sales figures grow by 47 per cent, bumping the company’s overall growth to 66 per cent.
In an attempt to widen its reach in the Indian and global markets, the iconic two-wheeler manufacturer has been increasing its customer engagement programs. The company recently took a step further towards its plans for global expansion by appointing the KSR Group as its official distributor for Germany. In India, the company also conducted its annual regional ride, the REunion North and REunion South in August, while the REunion West is slated to take place later this month.
Last month, Royal Enfield also took two specially modified Continental GT cafe racers for a speed run on the Bonneville Salt Flats, at the Bonneville Speed Week festival. With their power bumped up to 60bhp, the company was successful in recording an average speed of 156.3kmph.
