-Taken off the company website
-Replaced by the new Scram 440
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 has been discontinued in India. The company has removed the motorcycle from its official website, indicating that the bike has been discontinued. This has been done following the launch of the new Scram 440, that has a starting price of Rs 2.08 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Scram 411 was based on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411. It had the same engine and chassis, but rode on smaller, wire-spoke wheels. It also had far less body work and weight in comparison to its full-blown ADV sibling. The Scram 411, essentially, offered the capability of a scrambler that made it suited for riding in the city with some off-road trails thrown in the mix.
The Scram 411 was powered by a 411cc engine that makes 24.3bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm at 4250rpm. This engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. While it was torquey and responsive, the lack of a sixth cog was telling while riding at high speeds on the highway.
The new Royal Enfield Scram 440 takes care of this issue with its bigger engine, more power and six-speed gearbox. The Scram 440 also offers the choice of wire-spoke rims with a tube-type tyre or alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
Considering the price of the Scram 440, which is only Rs 2,000 more than the Scram 411, it made sense for Royal Enfield to finally pull the plug on the Scram 411 and made way for the Scram 440
