Royal Enfield launched the Scram 411 last year. It’s based on the largely popular ADV, the Himalayan, but has been tweaked in a few areas. We also had the Scram 411 in our long-term fleet, which clocked more than 5,000km. So, if you are planning to buy one, here are a few things to know.
What are the specifications and fuel economy of the Royal Enfield Scram 411?
Since the Scram is based on the Himalayan, it uses the same engine as its ADV sibling. It’s a 411cc, single-cylinder motor with a five-speed gearbox. The setup produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm. During our time with the bike, it shone in certain areas such as the engine performance, thanks to its strong low- and mid-range grunt. And in the BikeWale fuel-efficiency test, the Scram 411 returned around 30kmpl, which is a decent figure. So, you can expect a range of about 450km with its 15-litre fuel tank. That said, its mileage could vary as per your riding style and conditions.
What are the colour options for the Royal Enfield Scram 411?
Royal Enfield offers the Scram 411 in as many as seven colours – Graphite Red, Graphite Blue, Graphite Yellow, White Flame, Blazing Black, Skyline Blue, and Silver Spirit. All the paint options are dual-tone schemes with contrasting colours on fuel tank extensions as well as side panels. Overall, the bike looks quite handsome, especially in the White Flame paint scheme.
What are the variants, prices, and rivals of the Royal Enfield Scram 411?
Royal Enfield offers the Scram 411 in a single variant. However, the asking price differs as per the colour choice. So, the White Flame and Silver Spirit options are priced at Rs. 2.08 lakh, whereas the Graphite shades cost Rs. 2.03 lakh (about Rs. 5,000 less). Meanwhile, the Skyline Blue and Blazing Black colours are priced at Rs. 2.04 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Chennai).
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 rivals the Yezdi Scrambler and the Yezdi Adventure. However, it’s also an affordable alternative to the Himalayan.
