- Is powered by a 411cc single cylinder air-cooled motor and makes 24.3bhp and 32Nm of torque
- Will be offered in seven colours
- Costs Rs 10,000 less than the Himalayan
Royal Enfield has introduced its first offering for 2022 and it's none other than the Scram 411. The test mule was spotted numerous times before the launch and only the visual details were revealed so far. Now that the bike is out in all its glory, let's see what it has to offer.
On the design front, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 resembles the bike it’s based on, the Himalayan. It gets the same round headlight flanked by bulb indicators and an LED taillight. The fuel tank too is pretty similar but the jerry can holders have made way for shrouds. Even at the rear, the Scram 411 comes sans a luggage rack or pannier mounts.
It uses the same motor as the Himalayan -- 411cc single cylinder air-cooled unit-- that dishes out 24.3bhp and 32Nm. Same as its ADV sibling’s figures.
The Scram 411 is equipped with a single pod instrument cluster. You get a speedometer, odometer, tachometer and other basic read-outs like the fuel gauge, range and real time mileage. Royal Enfield will also offer the tripper navigation system as an optional accessory.
Like the Himalayan, the Scram 411 is suspended on the same telescopic forks and a linked rear shock. It uses the same braking setup too -- front and rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS. It rolls a 19/17 spoked wheel setup wrapped in dual-purpose rubber.
The asking price has been set to Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai). That's almost Rs 10,000 less than the ADV sibling. But is it worth the asking price? Well, check out our review.
