- Available in five colours
- Gets a new 443cc engine with a six-speed gearbox
- To be launched in January 2025
Royal Enfield recently took the wraps off the Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024. The motorcycle gets a bigger 443cc engine, more features, strengthened chassis, and new paint schemes. Speaking of which, the new Royal Enfield Scram 440 is available in five colour options – Trail Green, Trail Blue, Force Blue, Force Grey, and Force Teal.
As we mentioned earlier, the Scram 440 is powered by a 443cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor that produces 25.4bhp at 6,250rpm and a peak torque of 34Nm at 4,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The new mill should offer a better top-end grunt, while the additional sixth gear should make the engine feel more relaxed during long-distance touring.
Royal Enfield hasn’t updated the styling, which comes as a bummer in an otherwise decent package. That said, the company has updated the features list by offering an LED headlight, switchable ABS, and a provision for mounting a top box with a payload capacity of 5kg. It continues to get a semi-digital instrument cluster as the outgoing model. Royal Enfield has also updated the braking hardware and introduced a pull-type clutch for a lighter clutch action.
The motorcycle is available in two variants – Trail and Force. The former gets spoke wheels with tube-type tyres, while the Force variant gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
The new Scram 440 will reach showrooms in December, while the official launch is scheduled for January 2025.
