Royal Enfield's first offering for 2022, the Scram 411, is just a few days away from making its official debut. A lot of details have already been revealed since it was first spotted. Let's take a quick recap before its launch.
Design
An apple doesn't fall far away from the tree and it's the same case here. Since the Scram 411 is based on the existing Himalayan, it features an almost identical design. It gets the same round headlight, barebones body work and pretty much the same mechanicals sans a bit of off-road credibility.
Features
Royal Enfield motorcycles pack minimal features and we expect the Scram 411 to do the same. Basis all the spy shots so far, we can expect a halogen headlight, bulb indicators, LED taillight, semi-digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS. Not to mention, Royal Enfield could also offer the tripper navigation pod (gives access to Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation) on the Scram 411.
Engine
For the powerhouse, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 uses the same motor as its ADV sibling - 411cc, single-cylinder, and oil- and air-cooled engine. It shouldn't stray away in terms of power figures either, so expect the Scram 411 to dish out 24.3bhp of maximum power and 32Nm of peak torque. With that being said, it could get altered gear ratios in keeping with its commute purpose.
Hardware
This is the section where the Scram 411 distinguishes itself from the Himalayan. While it could use a similar suspension setup as the ADV, the Scram will ride on smaller wheels. It'll borrow the same front and rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS. Moreover, the Scram 411 doesn't seem to feature any mounts or racks for touring purposes.
Expected Price
Over the past year and a half, Royal Enfield has hiked the Himalayan's asking price by almost Rs 20,000. And the Scram 411 aims to be an affordable version of the ADV. So, expect the Scram 411's asking price to be set at around Rs 2.06 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
