- To be launched in mid-2024
- Features MRF block-pattern tyres
- Gets a fully-digital instrument console
The upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 has been spied testing once again ahead of its launch in India. The latest set of spy images provides finer details about the Scrambler 650, more so of its features and cycle parts. Once launched, we expect the scrambler to be named the Royal Enfield Sherpa 650.
The test mule seems to be running MRF Nylorex-X block-pattern tyres, which look similar to the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR in design. We believe these tyres are specifically designed for the Scrambler 650 and should offer good grip levels on off-road trails. Judging by the spy pictures, the motorcycle seems to be running 19/17-inch wheels at the front and back, respectively.
The latest images also reveal that the motorcycle will feature a new single-pod, fully-digital instrument cluster, unlike the consoles we have seen on the likes of the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650 or even the Hunter 350. Instead, the instrument console on the Scrambler 650 looks similar to the one that the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will get.
Even the rotary switchgear is similar to the other new-generation Royal Enfield bikes available in India. Further details include accessories like touring mirrors, a sturdy tail rack, and saddle bags with panniers.
The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 will be powered by an OBD-2 compliant 648cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 46.3bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. The engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India in mid-2024 and could be priced at around Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 650 Scrambler.
