- Shotgun 650 to be powered by a 647.95cc engine
- Expected to produce 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm
- Likely to be launched in India in early 2024
Royal Enfield recently showcased the Shotgun 650 in India at Motoverse 2023. Although the bike maker refrained from revealing the technical specifications of the motorcycle, the engine specifications and dimensions of the bike have been leaked via a Type Approval Certificate from the Delhi Transport Department.
According to the leaked document, the Shotgun 650 will be powered by a 647.95cc motor producing 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm. Given that these figures are similar to those of the Super Meteor 650, a calculated guess suggests that the engine could develop around 52.3Nm of peak torque. The motor is likely to be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Besides the engine specifications, the Type Approval Certificate also reveals the dimensions of the motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will measure 2,170mm long, 1,105mm high, and 820mm wide. The motorcycle will have a wheelbase of 1,465mm and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 429kg. The GVW includes the bike’s kerb weight and max payload.
All said and done, the Shotgun 650 is expected to be launched in India in early 2024. Coming to its pricing, the hand-painted Motoverse edition is priced at Rs. 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), so we can expect the production version to cost between Rs. 3.80 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
